Dear DWC Colleagues,

Welcome to summer!  Is it sweltering where you are?  Atlanta is in the mid-90s with 500% humidity (approximately), so I hope you’ve all got ways to stay cool!

The summer edition of the DWC DivisioNews, our online newsletter, is full of useful information.  In addition to all of our regular member news and profiles, job search information, and insight for graduate students and faculty alike, we’ll also be adding a downloadable “Sessions of Interest” document that you can print out and bring with you to the ASC meetings in November.  Don’t forget to check out the pre-meeting workshops on grounded theory and on feminism in theory and action too.

Nominations are needed for the various DWC awards given at the annual meetings.  Make sure to check the “Employment and Funding” section for information about all the awards and submitting a nomination.

As always, thanks to the wonderful associate editors who pull it all together (even in the middle of summer), including Tara Richards, Lisa Bostaph, Rebecca Maniglia, Susan Sharp, Kristin Carbone-Lopez, Lizzie Seal, Kathleen Cameron, Kristenne Robison, Sarah Brightman, Amanda Burgess-Proctor, Alana Van Gundy-Yoder, Venezia Michalsen, and last but not least (though always hardest to spell), Molly Dragiewicz.  If you ever have questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions, don’t hesitate to email me at amy.dunger@hts.gatech.edu.

Have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you all in November.

Cheers,

Amy D’Unger
