Hello Fellow DWC Members,

Below is the collected news from DWC members, showing what an amazing organization we have! Please keep sending updates to tricha11@gmail.com.

Best Regards,
Tara Richards

Emily Wright has been elected as the Co-Chair of the Division of Victimology.

Janet Garicia-Hallett will join the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City as an Assistant Professor position in the fall.

Several DWC members also have new articles and books:

Joan Reid and Tara Richards (along with Thomas Loughran and Edward Mulvey) have a new article, “The Relationships between Exposure to Violence, Psychological Distress, and Gun-carrying Behavior Among Adolescents Found Guilty of Serious Legal Offenses: A Longitudinal Study” in Annals of Internal Medicine.

Kristi Holsinger and Lori Sexton have a new book, Toward Justice, from Routledge. The text “helps students translate what they have learned in the classroom into active strategies for justice in their professional lives—preparing them for careers that will not simply maintain the status quo and stability that exists within our justice system, but rather challenge the system to achieve justice.”

Adam M. Messinger also has a new book coming out from University of California Press, LGBTQ Intimate Partner Violence: Lessons for Policy, Practice, and Research.

Congratulations to all these great DWC authors and scholars!
